Joe’s interest in art started in childhood, when he enjoyed drawing World War II planes. Mainly self-taught, his formal training includes courses at the Art Students League, Ducret School of Art, and the Guild of Creative Art.
Over the past few years, Joe’s style has become more impressionistic, owed mainly to painting with the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast, lead by Judy Stach. Although most of his current paintings capture plein air subjects, they also include still life and portraits.
Several of Joe’s paintings have won awards in various art competitions, and for the past few years his works have been juried into the Monmouth Festival of the Arts, and other New Jersey art exhibits.
